Change the lock screen background in Windows 8

   Point to the top/bottom right side of your screen with your mouse or swipe in from the right edge of the screen with your finger if your computer is touch enabled.

    select the gear (Settings) icon

       select Change PC Settings

Rename Admin account in Windows 7

1. Open Run Dialog Box.

2. Open the Local Security Policy editor using “secpol.msc”.

3. Navigate to the tree Structure In the left pane, in Local Policies, expand it to Security Options.

4. In the right pane, there is a Policy, Accounts: Rename administrator account, Double click over it.
5. Change the name of Admin account to the one you wish to have now.
6. Close the Local Security Policy window, Log off to save the changes.

Note: To make changes to this setting effective, you must log off and then log back on.

Turn off all balloon notifications in windows 7

1. Using GPEdit (Group Policy Editor)

This setting turns off the Balloon notification in the notification area using Group Policy editor

Open Run Dialogue Box (Win + R) and type gpedit.msc
Navigate to Local Computer policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu & Taskbar in left hand side pane

Select Turn off all Balloon notifications setting from right side pane.
Open it and enable it so that no notification balloons will be shown to the user. .
Press OK

2. Using RegEdit (Registry Editor)

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.

Navigate to the following

subkey:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Right-click the right side pane, create a new DWORD value, and then name it EnableBalloonTips.


Double-click EnableBalloonTips, and then give it a value of 0.


Close Registry Editor.

Boot Straight to Desktop in Windows 8.1 / 8

The source of many complaints about Windows 8 manifests itself each time you start your computer: starting with the live tiled interface by default. From my observations, most people utilize this interface mainly to click the “Desktop” icon to return to “normal” Windows. Well, Microsoft heard our cry and have provided a way to boot directly to the desktop in Windows 8.1. To boot to the desktop:

1. Right click the taskbar and click Properties
2. On the Navigation tab, check Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in
3. Click OK

That’s it. Next time you restart your computer, you’ll be back to booting straight to the desktop.

End Not responding applications without Task Manager.

Almost all the Windows users are well familiar about Not Responding message given by windows, while using some programs on your computer. Generally This message can be due to heavy application  installed on your computer, Low RAM, viruses or application not properly designed.

In daily routine, Most of the computer user when encounter this message, Go to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and ends the application forcefully which is not responding. This method takes some time. Also if there are more than one  Not Responding applications, then you have to close them one by one manually.

But by using the method given below, you can end multiple Not responding applications in just single click in Windows without Task Manager. which can save your much time. You have to just follow simple steps given below:

Just Go to Desktop. Right click anywhere

Navigate to New and select Shortcut.

A dialogue box will appear as shown below.

Just paste the code given below in the dialogue box as shown in image.

taskkill.exe /f /fi “status eq not responding”

Save this shortcut. Name this shortcut as per your choice.

Now your shortcut is ready. when you have any application giving Not responding message. Just open this shortcut by double clicking  it. All the application having status Not Responding will be closed in single step only. You don’t need to navigate away from the desktop. You can end applications right from desktop using the shortcut created. Also you can pin this shortcut to Start Menu or Taskbar as per your convenience. So this time, close the Not responding application directly without leaving desktop in Windows.

WAY TO DISABLE COMMAND PROMPT ON YOUR COMPUTER

step1->Go to START and then RUN and press key+ R

step2->Type ‘regedit’ in RUN and press ENTER

step3->then in browser ‘local computer policy’ >> ‘user configuration’>> ‘administrative templates’  >> ‘system’

step4->’ Prevent access to command prompt’ will shown

step5->Double click the value. this image will shown in your window.

step6->select ENABLED tab in window

step7-> Restart your computer then command prompt will display on your system.
